General Office Policies
Payment
Payment is expected at the time of service. Prior to your first intake appointment, you will be given access to your own secure client portal where you will be asked to provide a credit/debit card to remain on file for future sessions.
Specific rates can be disused at the time of your consult call. They are also part of your informed consent forms and will be reviewed at your initial intake appointment.
Group fees will be determined based on group length, and content. Group fees are to be paid in advance. Please check back soon for more information on group offerings.
For any further questions, feel free to reach out via phone or email.
Insurance
I will be accepting Aetna, Optum, and United insurance plans through the end of 2024.
If your insurance is not listed, you may still be able to use your benefits if you have a plan that covers out-of-network services.
What that means is that you will pay for the full session fee out of pocket at the time of your session, and seek potential reimbursement from your insurance. It’s important to look at your benefits carefully if you will be seeking reimbursement. Some clients may receive 100% reimbursement while others may receive none. You can always use HSA/FSA funds for services.
It’s also important to know that insurance providers require that you are given a mental health diagnose that will part of you or your child’s permanent health record. This record may also be shared with third party payers or other involved in your health care. If you feel uncomfortable with having a mental health diagnosis or having that information shared, then you may choose not to use your insurance benefit.
If you have an insurance plan that covers out-of-network services or a HSA/FSA account that requires documentation of services, the practice will send a “superbill” (receipt of services) each month. Please indicate at the time of intake if you will be seeking reimbursement from your insurance and if you require a super bill or other documentation to submit your claim.
Cancellations
I require at least 24 hours notice for all cancellations. Cancellations are recognized by a phone call, email or by responding to your text reminder. If you need to cancel your appointment within the 24 hours of your schedule appointment a cancellation fee with be applied. If you do not show for your appointment you will be charged the full rate for the appointment.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is also a critical part of therapy. All therapists are bound by laws and codes of ethics to maintain the privacy of our clients. However, there are some important exceptions that I will discuss during our first session. In general, I am required, as a mandated reporter, to break confidentiality when I learn about the actual or suspected harm of a child or a vulnerable adult or if a client makes (1) threats of serious self-injury or suicide, (2) threats to take the life of another individual, or (3) because of a judge’s court order. Although legal guardians are guaranteed access to their child’s protected health information, I encourage parents to allow their children to enjoy a confidential space in therapy where their privacy will be respected. Also, if you wish me to consult or provide any information to another provider, you are welcome to sign a release of information which I will provide.
Confidentiality will be explained in greater detail in your Informed Consent and Professional Disclosure packet at your initial intake appointment.
